Car Manager: Fuel Economy & Cost Tracking App Reviews
I have been using the application on my IPAD. Known problems are the inability to insert refills. I bought the OS X eidition because of the advertized option to share data between devices. A total disaster, on OS X the application hangs when trying to import the existing data base (I had to reboot my MAC). Support was not helpful (wanted complete data base for their in-house debugging which is out of the question as it contains confidential data). I don’t know how much time I’ve spend on this is so far, I’ll migrate to use a spreadsheet. Disappointing that Apple is not doing some basic testing
I have found this app to be very useful in keeping track of what I spend on both vehcles. I enter my required inspections under other actions and notes. Maintenance performed is tracked under Costs.

So far so good, it is a pity that the liasson between my MaBook and iPhone is so complicated.
I am using this app on iPhone and iPad for almost three years, I honestly can say: it is great!!! It does everything I was looking for and it does it great! I just installed it on my Mac, synchronized database from iCloud…it’s ready to work. Great app and great job!
I have been using this app since July and other than a minor issue with the graph plotting (dates get jumbled together on the right side), its great. I can store all of the information that I have to track in an easy to read and understand format. If I need a report, I can generate a PDF with one click. Well done folks!
This is a great little program. Keeps track of MPG, maintenance schedules, cost per mile, maintenance costs, gas cost, inspection dates, all of it! It has nice visual graphs and the option to print a PDF of all the critical data is so great. When I try to sell this car, I will unquestionably give the potential buyer one of these printouts, it is very impressive. My one criticism: when I first got the program, my car had 1894459 miles on it. When I enter the mileage needed before an oil change, it is not 3000 like I want it; I need to enter 1897459. The program makes me do the math, not taking the original odometer reading as the starting point and making the calculation behind the scenes.
First of all this app does pretty much what I want. I mostly just wanna keep track of maintenance and gas fill ups without the frills that some apps have. More importantly my last one quit and this one runs. My only complaint is that there is a mac version and iphone version and you can import/export files to iCloud. It would be nice if the file could just be there and run there or something so I don’t have to import and export files every time I use a different device. That may be a minor thing though as I will likely use mostly one device for entry after I get all my old data in from the last app. I do have a few other apps fromthis developer and they all work good. I like apps that I can run on my mac and iphone. This is a relavively new app it is versin 1.03 so they are probably still making changes and trying to figure out the best way to set it up.
If you are primarily tracking fuel expenses this is an excellent app but could be improved. I know there is a Car Manager App for the iPhone but I am not certain if it syncs with the app on the Mac Application. This would be an excellent enhancement for entering expenses “on the go”. The other issue I have is that PDF reports truncate notes entered in Comments. For example, I had the following in the Comments section for one service -"39,226 miles-Cabin filter, inspection, oil change, rotate tires, transmission fluid, battery”. In the PDF report the comment was truncated after the word “rotate”. You would have to go back to the orginal entry to view the full comment. not very convenient. Also every item (not just fuel tracking) should offer the option to add vehicle mileage.
This app is fine for tracking mileage but not as good for maintenance tracking. I would like to associate vehicle mileage with all service records and would like a field for the service provider. Some additional devlopment could make this a great app!
